I dug out my wallet, prepared a coin... waitaminute...

Damn.
Deciding to ignore my thirst until such time that I found a working vending machine, I was greeted by a tall apparition in black. Handing out chocolate money.
Um, yes. From overheard conversations, I surmised that this was a ghost of some sort.

Outside. There was definitely a crowd now. Perhaps not as much as MAC's Cosplay event, but then that was indoors. Maybe this one was just spread out more.

A guy with a sword walked past. I couldn't get a pic of him, but I had a feeling that something was not quite right.
The ghost, meanwhile, was being suitably Creepy. I mean, how would you react in such a situation?

How about the other, non-threatening ghost? Oh, there he is.

All that attention must have aggravated him to breaking point, however.

The time was about three in the afternoon. And finally, finally, the registration booth was set up. The call was sent out, and being Singaporeans, we queued.

By virtue of my position (pure luck, I assure you), I was one of the first in line. A payment of six dollars garnered me a thin metal ring/band that was way too small to slip on my wrist, as well as a ticket. With the word "Green" scrawled on it.
Hm.
I checked my camera. Still many many pictures to go. I mean, I had 64MB, and I doubt there is a way to use it all up in a single cosplay.
Still thirsty. Must endure.
The guy with the sword walked past again. Still I felt something was not quite right, and still I couldn't pin it down. Ah well, I can wait.
I'm not exactly the authority on cosplays, but I had believed that Card Captor Sakura was a popular theme among cosplayers. I had expected a legion of Card Captors, complete with rivals, cards, and assorted accessories.
Yet this time, the legion seemed less... legion.

Ah, now this was familiar. What would a cosplay be without King Of Fighters characters?

Looking for more photo ops, I was approached by a cosplayer who wanted me to help her take a picture. I agreed, and she handed me her...
... camcorder.
o_O

The instructions were to press a button labelled "Photo". Seemed easy enough.
I aimed, focused, and pressed.
Recording... 1 sec
*sweatdrop*
The counter timed up to six seconds before the girl (she's the leftmost one in the pic) took the camcorder off my hands. I hope I didn't screw anything up.
What else? I turned, and blinked. At first I thought I needed new glasses (again), but no, this was a different cosplayer.

One thing I noticed was that if you approach cosplayers who are in a queue, they can't run away.

Next up, a hostage situation.

So very thirsty. I cast about for a distraction (and a photo op).
Ah, yes. The ghost finger was being fairly chummy with the Card Captors.

The guy with the sword walked past yet again, and now I managed to take a pic. As well as figure out what had been bugging me.

About 1530h. An announcement from the admin booth, and we were supposed to embark on a treasure hunt. Ah, good, more chances for me to use up my 64MB of memory card space.
In the meantime, though, I took the oppurtunity to snap a pic.

The treasure hunt teams were divided according to the colour written on the registration tickets. As stated earlier, I was in the Green team, led by a guy with one glove.

Personally, I doubted that the treasure hunt would go as planned, since it seems to be very hard to organize anything for Singaporeans. Kudos to the SCC Committee for trying, though.
While the impassioned pleas for cooperation were being made, I took a couple more pics.

Another announcement from the Almighty Organisers:
"The treasure hunt has been called off due to wet weather. This is now mingling time, so please mingle for about half an hour, when the buffet begins."

It hadn't actually started raining yet, so I tried to fill up my 64MB of memory.

Thanks once again to Arayd for the ident.
Still thirsty. Need water.
Ah, a distraction.

And that was about the last pic I took before the heavens opened up.
Uryaaa!
