Someone had been thoughtful enough to create a Sign.

Very much so.
You don't say.

That was it. I had to find a drink, or I was going to spend the rest of the day sounding like sandpaper.

Up the stairs. Look around wildly. Ignore the strange looks from the wedding guests. Choose a direction at random, and start moving.

And then there was light.

Hallelujah.
Finally.

After buying two cans of Coke (I didn't really care what I drank, as long as it rehydrates), I drained them both in one go, and then went back down.

And outside. The rain didn't really bother me. Besides, it was barely more than a drizzle.

Some people were already outside as well.

Well, she's canonically Singaporean...
It took me a while to realize who I was shooting.

Next are two people to whom water should be no problem. Well, one of them, at least.

Tidus and Yuna. Sort of.
I wonder what Tidus actually does in FFX-2.

The ghost and his finger are finally (re)united.

Version upgrade?
Scary.

Oh yes, another apparent staple of cosplays: the Squaresoft contingent.

1... er, 5 girls...
Riku seems uncharacteristically cheerful.

The rain had stopped, and the winds came. Compared to the merciless sun of a few hours before, this was a welcome change.

Still, the winds caused their own set of problems to a certain category of cosplayers.

Somewhat more modest pose.
At least, I think it's Mai Shiranui.

Another pose.
A very popular photography subject, it seems.

The power of the One Ring is truly immense. It can turn anything its master holds into a weapon that can stand up to even the swords of the future.

You had to see it coming.
Case in point.

And... the Squaresoft contingent is still there.

And Sora still has that lollipop.
Incidentally, I think that's Alucard just outside the pic. He's been commercialised.

The rains started again. Not that anyone cared.

I decided to take a look at the booths.

Yummies?
The awnings are retractable, if you were wondering.

The selection of items weren't as diverse as I expected, but there was still a respectable selection. Feeling that I should get something, I bought a few pics and souvenirs. One of them happened to be a bookmark with a pic of... James Potter? Well, he looks amazingly Cho Hakkai-like. Sirius Black looks like Sha Gojyo, and Peter Pettigrew closely resembles Genzo Sanjo. I didn't see Remus Lupin on sale, but I think it's safe to assume that he is not at all like Son Goku.

As it turned out, the artist (a friend of the Riku cosplayer) is definitely not into Gensomaden Saiyuki. In fact, she declares that they don't look anything like them. I suppose that, from a certain angle, she's right. Still, I think that they look very Saiyuki. You can decide for yourself here.

One of the main attractions was the Sakura Taisen movie on sale. They had the trailer playing on loop, and I have to admit it looked good. I'm not that interested in Sakura Taisen, though (nothing personal; I just don't have as much interest in it).

Then there were the mousepads. After some deliberation, I chose one of Rei Ayanami (for obvious reasons), as well as one of Lain (because it fits, dammit, and to hell with the cliche).

The manga on sale didn't interest me as much, because I could get them at Comics Connection. Besides, I owned most of them.

No figurines of cute anime girls. Spammit.

The most significant purchase, though, had to be the Clow. Yes, that's right. I bought a set of the Clow, complete with a booklet describing various ways to tell one's fortune with them.

Sort of an anime tarot. Except rather more dangerous. I'd inscribe the name "KELLIS" on them, if I didn't have a personal policy of not defacing anything I buy.

Another booth of interest would be the one that didn't actually sell anything. Instead, they had an order form for things To Be Made. You describe it, they make it. Not on the spot, of course, but this being a cosplay event, having things made to order is an invaluable service.

Like swords. Making swords is always useful.

Exprode!
The character on the right could be Edgar from FF6, could be Gourry from Slayers (but I doubt it)... someone help?

The Quickening?
Okay, now I'm stumped.

And now for something mostly different.

I truly have nothing to add.
Look at the person on the right. Look at the person on the right.

We have indeed come far.

Winding down.
